Hello! And welcome to our season 15th annual Dana Gould Hour Halloween spectacular. Put on your costume, grad an old pillowcase, and get ready for the podcast equivalent of full-size bars. It isn’t a school night so we don’t have to be home early.
Alan Sepinwall is here. Alan has a new book out entitled Serling, A Journey Into The Twilight Zone With TV’s First Visionary. If you haven’t guessed yet, his book is about Ryan Murphy. Nooooooo. It’s about Rod Serling, one of my heroes. In fact, I have most, if not all of the books written about Serling. And this one was actually full of stuff I did not know and hadn’t heard about before.
Also, Antonia Carlotta is here. Antonia is the niece of Universal Studios founder Carl Laemmle. Her YouTube channel is filled with her amazing stories about the golden age of Hollywood horror films. You can also find all of this information on her website, AntoniaCarlotta.com. She is currently writing a biography of her legendary uncle and grand-uncle. Her YouTube channel alone has already dispensed several book’s worth of information, again, stuff I did not know, and she’s here today to discuss it.
True Tales From Weirdsville takes a deep dive into the history of Hammer films, the British film studio the was to horror what Universal Studios also was to horror. From 1955’s The Quatermass Xperiment to 1975’s To The Devil A Daughter, from Peter Cushing to Christopher Lee to Ingrid Pitt. The story of Hammer Studios.
As for me, I have gigs coming up in areas as far afield as Plano, Texas, Lawrence Kansas and God blessed San Francisco, CA. For specific dates, please go over to the live appearances page at Dana Gould.Com
And now, the kids are at the door, we gotta a bunch of candy to give out, I say it’s on…to our filthy business.
